In my early Toronto years, I rented, living downtown for 5 years, St. Clair West for 2 years, Victoria village for 1, Beaches for 5. It was great, but I could not afford to buy where I could rent and so the search began. After several months of looking I purchased my first home in Guildwood, a neighbourhood all new to me. I fell in love with Guildwood, have raised my three children here, volunteered on many school councils, support community food and clothing drives, and a local womens' shelter. I have sponsored local ball teams, hockey teams, local theatre production, school fund raisers, and our community Guildwood Day. I use my local knowledge and love of the area, to educate buyers while I list my clients homes. I help some clients downsize, others move up and of course the ultimate challenge these days...finding affordable homes for the children of my first clients, neighbours and friends. My years of negotiating skills serve my clients well, the long term relationships as a result are what keeps my business growing and makes me love my career.
My business began with a focus on Guildwood Village and quickly expanded as clients, friends and families moved, I have lived in the east end for 30+ years and will share my knowledge and love of Scarborough, Ajax, Pickering and Whitby, and of course Toronto. I operate largely by referral and it is usually past colleagues, friends or clients whose referrals take me to different areas of the Toronto and the GTA as well as keeping me close to home.
Originally from Perth, Ontario I was raised with a strong work ethic, and a love of the land. I moved to Toronto in 1983 to attend Ryerson University and have lived here since. I began my career in Broadcast sales at the CBC where I spent 13 years negotiating deals, managing sales teams and navigating through changes in media. In 1998, I became Director of Sales with Discovery Channel Canada. I grew with the Discovery Channel family, securing the support of my loyal and trusting clients, to launch of several new digital channels. I thrived on negotiating advertising deals and leading clients through the changes we were offering. I enjoyed working with the people who brought it all together. In 2007, I embarked on a new business venture - residential real estate. I had built my previous career by listening to my clients, providing excellent customer service, adding value and negotiating a good deal for both parties. 16 years later, I continue to build my real estate business in exactly the same way, everyday in my own neighbourhood and throughout the GTA as my clients needs change. The best part of all...I get to help others discover their gem, just like I did back in 1991, and I have the privilege of serving them down the road, whether it is in the sale of their home, or for one of their friends or family members.
